In the 1/16 final match of the World Cup against Sweden, Mbappé opened the scoring. He scored in the 45th minute. This goal itself set a new record. Thus, Mbappé increased the number of his goals in the World Cup playoffs to nine. He achieved this result in nine matches. This indicator allowed him to surpass such stars as Brazilian legends Leonidas (8 goals in 5 matches) and Ronaldo (8 goals in 10 matches).
