Two Uzbek footballers' value skyrockets after World Cup

After the World Cup, the value of two Uzbek footballers has significantly increased.

Transfermarkt portal experts have updated the market value of footballers who participated in the most prestigious tournament after the 2026 World Cup.

As a result of the new assessment, the transfer value of two young defenders of the Uzbekistan national team - Jahongir O'rozov and Behruz Karimov - has been significantly increased.

The value of 22-year-old O'rozov has increased by 600 thousand euros at once, reaching 1.2 million euros. Karimov's transfer value has increased by 650 thousand euros, crossing the 1 million euro mark.

In total, the total value of the two footballers has increased by 1.25 million euros.

Experts consider Jahongir O'rozov to be one of the most promising representatives of the new generation of Uzbek football. The 190 cm tall defender plays confidently in aerial battles, does not make mistakes in choosing a position, and stands out for his ability to start an attack with accurate passes from the deep part of the field.

This season, he played 11 matches for the Samarkand "Dinamo" team and received one yellow card.

In the 2026 World Cup, O'rozov played in all three group stage matches of the Uzbekistan national team, facing Colombia, Portugal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He started two matches in the starting lineup and was substituted in one.

His total playing time at the World Cup was approximately 210 minutes. He did not distinguish himself with a goal or an assist and completed the tournament without warnings. According to Sofascore, O'rozov's average rating was 6.5 points.

Behruz Karimov played in two matches at the World Cup, playing a total of 180 minutes. In the match against Colombia, which ended with a score of 1:3, he played the full 90 minutes. In the match against Portugal, which ended with a score of 0:5, the defender was substituted in the 89th minute.

During the two matches, Karimov returned the ball to his team's possession 15 times and participated in 34 ground battles.

Also, he became the leader of the Uzbekistan national team in terms of the number of successful dribbles - six times he was able to bypass the opponent with a feint.

It is worth noting that both young defenders, who were able to demonstrate their abilities at the World Cup, have attracted the attention of several European clubs and are currently in negotiations.

The most valuable player of the Uzbek national team is Abduqodir Husanov. The transfer value of the 22-year-old footballer is estimated at 50 million euros.
