Abduqodir Husanov signs new contract with Manchester City

Uzbekistan national team central defender Abduqodir Husanov has reached a new agreement with his current club, Manchester City.

According to The Athletic, the new deal is set to run until 2031.

The 22-year-old Uzbekistan player performed reliably in the right-back position, which was considered the team's weakest point in the first half of the season. In the second half, after main central defenders Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol suffered injuries, he took on the responsibility of managing the defense.

Husanov quickly became a key figure in the team. Along with Mark Guehi, who was invited to Manchester in the winter, he formed one of the strongest defensive duos in the Premier League.

Towards the end of the season, there were reports that Manchester City's management would reward the player's growth with a new contract. However, this issue was postponed until after the 2026 World Cup.

Husanov's current contract runs until 2029, but it is planned to be extended by two years in the near future.

Capology portal had previously released information about Husanov's salary at Manchester City. The player earns 3.8 million euros per year in England.

During his previous contract with Manchester City, which was signed until June 30, 2029, Abduqodir was expected to earn a total of 15.2 million euros. This amount is expected to change, i.e., increase, when the club renews the agreement with the Uzbek footballer.

Last season, Abduqodir Husanov played 37 games for Manchester City and helped the team win the English Cup and English League Cup.

This summer, the talented footballer made history by becoming the first Uzbekistan player to participate in the World Cup.
