University Teams Are Not an Exception, We Are in Talks with 4-5 New Players

The Uzbekistan Cup 'E' group stage saw its final matches of the 3rd round. The match between TerDU and Qizilqum ended with a score, as Qizilqum defeated their opponents 4-1.

After the game, both teams' head coaches attended a press conference.

Eldor Boyomatov (TerDU head coach):

- It was a good game. I congratulate Qizilqum on their well-deserved victory. This match didn't bring anything to either us or our opponents. In the first half, we made rotations in the lineup and gave opportunities to those who play less, but they didn't justify our trust. In the second half, we put our main players on the field, and they played well. However, Qizilqum's team won due to their experience.

- University teams participating in the Pro League do not have the potential to play in the Super League. What's the point of them playing in the Pro League?

- Last season, only 6 teams participated in the Pro League, and they played each other 4 times. University teams are no exception. There's 'FarDU', 'Lochin'... 'Lochin' is in 4th place. On the contrary, the competition in the Pro League is getting tougher. This question is irrelevant.

- What about the teams' quality?

- The quality was good too. For example, 'Jayhun', who defeated Qizilqum, is also a university team. So, the question is irrelevant.

- You gave instructions during the game, driven by emotions. Is this related to your past as a football player?

- Maybe. When I was a player, I liked aggressive football, and I demand the same from my students. Nowadays, it's hard to play big football without aggression.

Akmal Rustamov (Qizilqum head coach):

- We've played our last match in the Cup, and I thank my players. As you've seen, we have many losses in our lineup. We have about two months to recover. We'll try to return our players to the lineup and restore their form as soon as possible. Two of my players, Sho'hruz Norxonov and Asror G'ofurov, won't be able to return to the team until the end of the season. The other four players will be ready in a week or two. We're also in talks with 4-5 good players. There's a saying 'new blood'. In the second round, we'll try to take good positions for the people of Navoiy and our leaders. I also thank the fans who supported us today. We're playing with young players, and this is an opportunity for them. In such matches, they can show themselves, and we'll include them in the main lineup for the next games. I have good young players.

- What are the team's plans for the future?

- We have plans. We'll give the players a few days to rest. We've scheduled everything. We'll let the players spend time with their families and children. Then, we'll gather in Navoiy and start our preparation in three stages. First, we'll start with a gathering, and then we'll see. We'll also play friendly matches.
