Serena Williams' Potential Return to Tennis Courts on February 22

Serena Williams could return to tennis courts on February 22, but it's unclear if she will actually do so.

Serena Williams' Potential Return to Tennis Courts on February 22

Serena Williams could return to tennis courts starting from Sunday, February 22. This was confirmed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). However, the 23-time Grand Slam champion has not made an official announcement about her comeback.

Williams' name has appeared on ITIA's reinstatement list, which allows her to enter tournaments from February 22. The ITIA organization confirmed this to BBC Sport.

Serena Williams announced her retirement from tennis after the 2022 US Open. Since then, she has hinted at a possible return several times, but has not made a definitive decision.

Retired tennis players can return to competition if they agree to undergo out-of-competition doping tests for at least six months. In December, ITIA confirmed to BBC Sport that Williams had been added back to the doping test list.

Earlier today, Serena Williams posted on social media: "I'm not coming back. This news is crazy".

However, at the end of January, she did not rule out a potential return, saying: "I don't know, we'll see".

Serena Williams is considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with 23 Grand Slam titles, including 7 Australian Open, 3 French Open, 7 Wimbledon, and 6 US Open titles.
