According to journalist Simon Phillips, Atletico are considering a move to sign the Argentine player this summer. Fernandez himself is keen to leave Chelsea and has given his approval to the idea of joining Atletico.
However, the main issue is the transfer fee, with Chelsea demanding around £120 million (over €140 million) for the 25-year-old player.
Earlier in the summer, there were reports of Real Madrid's interest in Enzo Fernandez, but the club later issued a statement denying any intention to sign the player.
