Messi Expected to Start from the Bench Against Jordan

Argentina captain Lionel Messi is expected to start from the bench in the World Cup group stage match against Jordan.

According to ESPN, Argentina will face Jordan on June 28 at 05:00 Tashkent time. The team previously defeated Algeria 3-0 and Austria 2-0, with Messi scoring all five goals.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni plans to give players with less playing time a chance in this match. Therefore, Messi is expected to start from the bench.

According to sources, during training sessions, Nico Paz initially played in the starting lineup, but was later replaced by Inter Miami striker Messi. Scaloni also experimented with Julian Alvarez instead of Lautaro Martinez.

It is reported that the coach usually does not play with two central strikers. However, during one part of the training session, Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez played together in the attacking line. For this, midfielder Exequiel Palacios was excluded from the lineup.
