After the match between Olympic-MobiUz and Mash'al (3:1) in the first round of the Uzbekistan Cup, the head coach of the home team, Farhod Nishonov, expressed his opinion.
- Can you share your thoughts on the first game and the start of the Cup in general?
- Today we started the Cup games well. The guys started the game very well, scored a goal. We also played well in the subsequent episodes. We have our drawbacks, our mistakes. There are key moments that we need to improve. We are working on this. But today's game pleased me, as the guys played well and I think we deservedly won.
- Is the team's performance a reflection of your instructions being implemented on the field, or did the opposing team just play too passively?
- I respect the opponent, as they are a good team, Mash'al. Their games in the Super League started unsuccessfully. I think this can happen to any team. If you look at their recent games, against Dinamo and Buxoro, they didn't play badly, they fought equally. Today I was happy, my team showed their game. We demanded certain things from them, and today I saw exactly that. The main reason for this victory, in my opinion, is confidence. They believed in themselves, showed their football, and that's how we won.
- How do you prepare Olympic MobiUz for Cup games against Super League teams in general?
- We prepare as we always do, because we need to prepare separately for each opponent. This team should not be underestimated, it's still responsible. We have very big tasks ahead of us. Therefore, we prepare seriously for each opponent.
