Egypt Team Involved in Scuffle with American Police Officer

A scuffle has broken out between Egypt's national team and an American police officer. The incident occurred at a hotel in Dallas where the Iranian team is staying, ahead of the World Cup 2026 1/16 final match.

Footage circulating online shows several members of the coaching staff trying to approach an Egyptian player who was taking a photo with fans in the hotel lobby, but were blocked by police officers.

This led to a verbal altercation between one of the coaching staff and a police officer. During the argument, the police officer pushed several members of the coaching staff back. The footage also shows the officer reaching for his weapon at one point before putting his hand back on his hip.

According to sources, the incident was quickly resolved and the situation was calmed down.

Meanwhile, the World Cup 2026 1/16 final match between Egypt and Australia is scheduled to take place today, July 3, in Dallas.
