Aleksandr Khomyakov: We played like a Pro League team

Following the Uzbekistan Cup match between BukhDU and Bukhoro (1:2), Bukhoro head coach Aleksandr Khomyakov held a press conference.

What is your opinion on the match?

I knew how the match would go. It was a very tense game. Yes, the levels are different, but today we played like a Pro League team. We played the way our opponents did. The opponents showed a good game, and the local Bukhoro players tried to prove themselves. If I talk about the quality of our game, it wasn't visible at all. I'm only satisfied with the result, not the game. We have problems and we need to work on solving them. Life doesn't stop, and we will continue to work.

There is, of course. But there's a difference between desire and opportunity. I don't know what our capabilities are, and that's what makes football interesting. As they say in a classic film, "There's a desire, but no opportunity". Of course, playing in the cup final would be a high level for our team. Participation in the cup can lead to playing in Asian competitions, and I think all teams understand this and the competition for the cup is fierce. I also want to reach the final, but first, we need to get out of the group.
