The 44-year-old Spanish specialist is being considered as a potential replacement for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who has been under immense pressure towards the end of the season.

Last weekend, Liverpool suffered a shocking exit from the English Cup, losing 0-4 to Manchester City, and it seems that Slot will have to secure a top-5 finish in the Premier League to avoid being sacked.

Additionally, Alonso is also being considered as a potential replacement for Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola, who is reportedly thinking of leaving the club, but will make a final decision only after the Premier League season ends.
