World Rally Championship leader Oliver Solberg got off to a flying start in the Swedish Rally, taking the lead on Thursday evening with a stage win.

The Monte Carlo Rally winner, buoyed by support from his home crowd, set the benchmark on the 10.23km Umeå super special stage, the only snow-covered rally on the championship calendar.
