UEFA Champions League qualifying matches are underway in European stadiums. The Azerbaijani champion team, Sabah, hosted the Welsh team, The New Saints, in the first qualifying round.

The Baku team successfully made their debut in the continent's most prestigious tournament, ending with a victory.

In the first half, both teams actively sought to score against their opponents, but neither could gain an advantage. There were many attacks, but no accurate shots were made, and the score remained 0-0 until halftime.

In the second half, the game's pace increased, and this time the hosts did not miss their chance. By the 66th minute, Sabah's players opened the scoring. Velko Shimich scored, assisted by Timoteush Puchach.

In the 84th minute, Sabah scored their second goal. This time, Kachim Perris got his name on the scoreboard.

The New Saints team could not put up significant resistance to reduce the score or change the situation and left the field without scoring a goal.

Notably, in the new season of the European Champions League, an Uzbek footballer also took to the field. Umarali Rahmonaliev, a midfielder and Uzbekistan national team candidate, was in Sabah's starting lineup and played for exactly one hour.
