Freezing 'Arctic blast' threatens to halt UK horse racing for a week
The UK's horse racing schedule is under threat due to an Arctic cold snap, with all but one course yet to confirm racing for the week ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.

UK horse racing faces a week-long shutdown due to an 'Arctic blast' of cold weather, with all but Ascot yet to confirm racing ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.
Ascot is the only course to have confirmed its racing will go ahead, while others, including Wincanton and Haydock, will inspect the going before making a decision.
Wincanton is due to stage the Kingwell Hurdle on March 10, which is set to feature Alexei, a contender for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham, but this too is under threat.
