Trump Allows Iranian Team to Travel to the US for the World Cup
FIFA President Gianni Infantino met with US President Donald Trump to discuss the upcoming World Cup

Infantino shared details of the meeting on FIFA's official social media pages, stating:
"Last night, I met with the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and discussed the preparations for the FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in just 93 days.
We also talked about the current situation in Iran and the Iranian national team's qualification for the 2026 World Cup. During the conversation, President Trump confirmed that the Iranian team will be able to participate in the tournament in the United States.
"Football unites the world"
The FIFA president also emphasized the role of sports as a messenger of peace:
"Now more than ever, we need a major event like the World Cup that can bring people together. I would like to thank the President of the United States for his support - it's another clear example of how football can unite the world.
As a reminder, the 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
