Rooney: 'Tottenham' at risk of relegation
Wayne Rooney believes Tottenham's current form puts them at risk of relegation after their 2-0 loss to Manchester United, their seventh game without a win.

Wayne Rooney, former England captain, says Tottenham's current form puts them at risk of relegation. They lost 2-0 to Manchester United and have not won in seven games.
The defeat dropped Tottenham to 15th place, and they are only six points above the relegation zone. Rooney told 'The Wayne Rooney Show':
'With their current form, I think it's fair to say Tottenham are at risk of relegation. West Ham are in good form, and Nottingham Forest have been picking up some wins. You can't think they're safe from relegation. I think they need to keep their eyes on their position.'
Tottenham captain Cristian Romero was sent off in the first half against Manchester United. Rooney commented:
'I understand why he was sent off, but I think it was a bit harsh. Sometimes players lose control. Romero has been in situations like this throughout his Tottenham career.'
Rooney also mentioned Romero's social media post criticizing the club:
'When there were talks about the club only having 11 players, Romero posting that kind of thing doesn't help. He's a player who speaks his mind, but in situations like this, you need to win games, otherwise it adds to the pressure.'
Rooney expressed sympathy for Tottenham manager Thomas Frank:
'I feel sorry for Thomas Frank, as he looks exhausted and tired. Being Tottenham manager is very tough. He's a great coach, but it's going to be very difficult to get out of this situation.'
