Rosenior ignores comparisons to TV characters

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is unfazed by comparisons to TV characters. The 43-year-old has won 7 of his first 9 games, but his mannerisms have been mocked online.

Rosenior says he doesn't use social media, and it's his teenage children who tell him about the comparisons to Will McKenzie from The Inbetweeners and David Brent from The Office.

"I'm not afraid to be myself," Rosenior said. "If I wear glasses, if I speak a bit louder or express myself in a certain way, or if I don't look like a typical boss, it doesn't bother me.

He says such comparisons affect his family, but he's not concerned as he expected this reaction when he took over as Chelsea boss.

Rosenior was appointed unexpectedly in January following the departure of Enzo Maresca. He became the second English manager to win his first four Premier League games as Chelsea boss.

He also led Chelsea to the last 16 of the Champions League after a 3-2 win over Napoli.

"I know why, because I have teenage children," Rosenior said of online comments. "They're on social media. It affects them, my parents and my family. But I knew this would happen when I started this job. It's normal.

"If you pay attention to such things, you shouldn't be doing this job," he said.

Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League table, a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United. They host 16th-placed Leeds on Tuesday.
