Major League Rugby (MLR) and its players' union have agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement, setting a new standard for professional men's rugby in the US.
The agreement comes as several teams have folded and with the Rugby World Cup approaching. The number of MLR teams has been reduced to six.
“We are pleased with the outcome of the negotiations,” said Chris Mattina, executive director of the United States Rugby Players Association.
