Kubarsi: My dream is to play against Messi in the World Cup final

Spanish national team and Barcelona defender Pau Kubarsi has stated his dream of playing against Lionel Messi in the World Cup final.

Messi, the Argentine national team striker, formerly played for Barcelona and is one of Kubarsi's childhood heroes.

"Playing against Messi in the World Cup final would be a dream come true. Firstly, it would mean I'm playing in the final, which gives me the chance to compete for the championship.

If the opponent is Messi, it would be the realization of my childhood dreams", Kubarsi said.

The defender considers the Argentine star his idol.

"Yes, of course. My whole family are Barcelona fans. Since I was a kid, Messi has been our idol and role model. I really want to meet him in person", the Spanish player said.

Kubarsi was also asked about Spain's chances of winning if they were to face Messi.

"That's our clear goal. We're working towards it", the Barcelona defender replied.
