According to sources, negotiations between Atletico and Barcelona were going smoothly until the two parties failed to agree on a final sale price exceeding 100 million euros. Additionally, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have expressed interest in the Argentine, and unlike Barcelona, they are willing to pay Atletico the required amount.
It is noted that Barcelona rejected Atletico's proposal to include other players, such as Marc Bernau, Fermin Lopez, or Ronald Araujo, in the deal for Alvarez.
