Is Ian Garry Islam Makhachev's Next Opponent?

Renowned coach Javier Mendez has spoken about the upcoming fight of Islam Makhachev, the de facto UFC lightweight champion.

"Islam is currently training with his team in Russia and preparing for his next bout. All the information about his opponent and the date of the fight is just speculation. We have to wait until the UFC officially announces it," Mendez said in an interview with "Match TV".

Previously, there were reports that Irish fighter Ian Garry would face Makhachev in the octagon.
