Hendrick Would Have Signed Larson to a Lifetime Deal

Rick Hendrick says he would have signed two-time champion Kyle Larson to a lifetime contract if he had the opportunity. The last time Hendrick Motorsports had a similar situation was with Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham, where Gordon signed a lifetime deal, but Evernham left to form a factory team with Dodge.

Hendrick was determined not to lose his latest dynasty to free agency or market changes when Larson and his crew chief Cliff Daniels were both still under contract.
