French biathlete convicted of fraud wins Olympic gold

French biathlete Julia Simon, 29, has won gold in the women's 15km biathlon, despite being convicted of fraud for using her teammate Justine Braisaz-Bouchet's credit card information to spend over €2,000.

Simon was sentenced to a €15,000 fine and three months' probation last October. Meanwhile, Braisaz-Bouchet finished 80th in the same event. Fellow French biathlete Lou Jeanmonnot took silver.
