Pirelli: 2026 F1 cars faster than expected

Pirelli, the Formula 1 tyre supplier, is pleased with the performance of the new 2026 cars, which have exceeded expectations. Initial estimates suggested they would be on a par with Formula 2, but Pirelli has been impressed.

This year sees the biggest regulation changes in F1 history. The new cars are 32kg lighter than their predecessors, have significantly reduced downforce, and power units that are more dependent on electric energy.
