English Football League (EFL) clubs will vote on expanding the Championship playoffs to six teams next month, following the Football Association (FA) board's approval of a radical plan.

English Football League (EFL) clubs have been invited to an extraordinary general meeting on March 5, where they will vote on a new playoff format that could see the Championship playoffs expanded to six teams.

The proposed format, if approved by the clubs, would come into effect from next season.
