Chelsea Legend Warns of London Club's Curse
Chelsea legend Emmanuel Petit advises compatriot Maxence Lacroix to approach a move to Chelsea with caution

Former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit has advised his compatriot Maxence Lacroix, who plays for Crystal Palace, to approach a move to the London club with caution.
According to media reports, Crystal Palace values the 26-year-old player at around £60 million, with his current contract set to expire in June 2029. Chelsea, however, is reportedly trying to negotiate a lower price.
'Maxence Lacroix at Chelsea? Don't even think about it. There seems to be a curse on French defenders at Chelsea. None of them have been truly successful since the days of Marcel Desailly and William Gallas. How many centre-backs do Chelsea have now? Eight, isn't it?' Petit said, as quoted by tribalfootball.com.
Currently, Maxence Lacroix is participating in the 2026 World Cup with the French national team.
