Bradford Bulls Return to Super League: Fallen, Liquidated, and Revived

Four-time Super League champions Bradford Bulls are back in the top division

Bradford Bulls Return to Super League: Fallen, Liquidated, and Revived

When Super League was reduced to 12 teams at the end of the 2014 season, it lost some of its biggest cities, including Bradford and London. These cities, along with Paris, Tyneside, and Sheffield, were thought to be gone for good, having exited the top division with no apparent hope of return. London Broncos have made two brief returns to the top flight, but were relegated again after just one season. It was sad to see the Broncos struggling, penniless, and homeless; but it was a shock that Bradford could suffer a similar fate.

The Bulls faced financial crisis, were liquidated, dropped to the third division, and even temporarily left their famous Odsal stadium. Now, 20 years after becoming world champions for a third time in five seasons, Bradford are back in the top division and start their season this weekend against Hull.
