Austrian goalkeeper Alexander Manninger has died at the age of 48 in a car accident. He was a champion in England and Italy.

Austrian goalkeeper Alexander Manninger has died at the age of 48 in a car accident. This was reported by the press service of the Austrian club "Red Bull Zalsburg".
According to reports, Manninger's car was hit by a train while crossing an unguarded railway crossing.
"We are deeply saddened by the death of our former goalkeeper Alexander Manninger. He died tragically in a road accident. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Farewell, Alexander," the statement reads.

48-year-old Alexander Manninger played for "Red Bull Zalsburg", as well as English "Arsenal", Italian "Fiorentina", "Bologna", "Siena", "Juventus", "Udinese", German "Augsburg", and Spanish "Espanyol". With "Arsenal", he became the champion of England (1997-1998 season), and with "Juventus", he became the champion of Italy (2011-2012 season).


He also played 33 matches for the Austrian national team.
