Adrian Newey praises Aston Martin's new car: 'A different solution to the new regulations'
Aston Martin's new car has been praised by Formula 1 design legend Adrian Newey, who says it's 'one of the more extreme interpretations' of the new regulations.

Formula 1 design legend Adrian Newey has spoken about Aston Martin's new car, saying it's 'a different solution' to the new regulations.
Aston Martin unveiled their new car in Saudi Arabia, but the launch was delayed due to technical issues and only a general 2026 car design and colour scheme were shown.
Newey joined the team last March and is now the team's chief technical partner. He told BBC Sport: "This solution is a bit different. As with 2022, the new aerodynamic regulations have appeared and there are various interpretations. Whether it's right or wrong, time will tell."
Aston Martin's new car has been well-received by rivals, with Mercedes driver George Russell describing it as "very impressive" and "probably the most eye-catching car design".
Newey discussed the team's design process, saying: "We had a very short design time, so we decided to go in one direction and execute it."
Aston Martin finished seventh in the constructors' championship last year, but they're aiming to win races and challenge for the world championship this season.
Fernando Alonso, the team's two-time champion, said: "The last few years haven't been easy, but we've learned a lot. Everyone in the team is pushing to be competitive."
